The purpose of this research was to identify the combination of parents' attachment and parenting styles related to young children's social ability. Subjects of this study were 581 parents drawn from kindergartens in Daejeon City, Chungchung and Kyungki province. Survey data were obtained from questionnaire package, including the measurement of marital attachment styles, parenting styles, children's social ability and emotional regulation. Data were analyzed by the frequency, percentage, k-means cluster, t-test, f-test with Tukey post-hoc test, and two-way ANOVA using SPSS. 12.0 program. This research indicated that attachment and parenting styles had reinforcement effects and buffering effects on children's social ability. That is, if one of parents had the secure attachment style and one of parents had warm parenting style, it could lessen or worsen its negative impact on children's social ability by reinforcement effects. It also proved that it could complement each other by buffering effects.
