본 연구에서는 고교 평준화제도와 인문계 고등학교 2학년 학생의 사교육비 지출의 관계를 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 고교 평준화제도와 사교육비 지출의 관계를 실증적으로 분석한 최근 연구들을 비교 분석하여 본 연구를 설계하였으며 한국직업능력개발원의 2004년, 2005년, 그리고 2006년 한국교육고용패널(KEEP) 학생과 학부모 자료 총 4가지를 활용하여 구조방정식모형(SEM)에 의한 AMOS 6.0 프로그램으로 분석하였다. 본 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 일반계 고등학교 2학년 학생의 월평균 사교육비 지출에 대한 고교 평준화제도의 유의미한 영향 관계를 발견하지 못하였다. 둘째, 일반계 고등학교 2학년의 월평균 사교육비 지출에 가장 많은 영향을 미치는 변인은 가구의 월평균 소득인 사회경제적 수준으로 분석되었다. 셋째, 월평균 소득 변인 다음으로 유의미하게 영향을 미치는 변인은 도시화 수준이었다. 넷째, 부모의 학력에서 월평균 사교육 지출에 이르는 경로는 통계적으로 유의미하지 않는 것으로 분석되었다. 다섯째, 고교 평준화제도에서 학교불만족에 이르는 경로가 통계적으로 유의미하게 부적으로 나타났다. 여섯째, 학교불만족 변인에서 월평균 사교육비 지출에 이르는 경로가 통계적으로 유의미하지 않는 것으로 분석되었다.


The purpose of this study is to explore the impact of high school equalization policy on private tutoring expenditure of academic high school second grade students in Korea. In this study, 5 previous researches, dealing with the relationship between high school equalization policy and private tutoring expenditure were analyzed and compared each strength and weakness. Based on the analysis and comparison, conceptual model used by Kim & Choi(2004) was revised and adopted as theoretical model in this study. The sample used in this study consisted of 930 students. 4 types of KEEP(Korean Education & Employment Panel) data were used and analyzed with AMOS 6.0 statistical software program. The results of this study are as follow. 1.The direct effect of high school equalization policy on private tutoring expenditure were turned out positive. However, the positive path coefficient was not statistically significant. 2.High school equalization policy has statistically significantly negative path coefficient on the schooling dissatisfaction. 3.Schooling dissatisfaction variable has positive path coefficient on private tutoring expenditure. However, the positive path coefficient was not statistically significant. 4.Parents' socio-economic status variable has the most significant impact on private tutoring expenditure. The second significant impact variable is residence area variable. 5.The impact of high school equalization policy on private tutoring expenditure directly or indirectly can not be found in this study. This result is consistent with that of the study by Kim & Choi(2004).
