본 연구는 한국 기독교인의 정체성이 무엇인가 하는 근원적인 질문으로 시작되었다. 안팎의 거센 도전에 직면한 한국기독교는 외적 팽창과는 비교되는 심각한 후유증을 앓고 있다. 우선 기독교인의 정체성, 말하자면 성도로서의 신분과 본분을 회복하는 데서 후유증 문제의 해결은 시작될 것이다. 본 논문은 이런 목적을 위해 ‘성도’라는 개념을 보다 역동적으로 해석하고자 한다. 원래 인간은 하나님의 형상과 모양을 따라 지음 받고 또 삶을 시작했고, 또 인간을 포함한 모든 만물들을 다스리는 문화명령을 수임 받았다. 그러나 타락을 통해 인간은 만물은 커녕 자기 자신도 통제하지 못하는 나약한 존재로 전락하였다. 그리스도인의 신분에 대한 재고를 통해 그리스도인들은 자신을 추스를 필요가 있다. 그런데 조직신학은 신론, 그리스도론, 인간론을 통해 전능한 하나님과 대조되는 형편없는 타락의 모습만 그려 놓고 있어서, 인간이 천지창조 시에 부여받은 문화명령을 수행하려면 나약한 자화상 - 성도의 모습 - 이다. 따라서 거기에 걸맞은 역동성을 찾아내지 않으면 안 된다. 류영모 사상 중 ‘씨사상’은 바로 오래된 잠재력과 역사를 품고 있는 성도에게 하나님의 아들로서 모든 피조물의 질서와 체계를 지도할 성도로서의 속성을 갖추게 하는 인간 설명의 체계이다. 이것은 오랜 고난의 한국사에서 우리 자신들을 종이 아니라 주인이며, 자유로운 존재인 사람들의 삶을 말하는 철학이다. 이것은 기독교의 유입으로 거듭난 류영모를 비롯한 기독교 선각자들을 통해 민주화의 씨를 이 땅에 정착시키는데 크게 이바지하게 했다. 아마도 성도의 개념에 이런 적극적인 속성이 더해진다면, 역사와 사회 및 우주의 주인이 되어 모든 삶을 진리에로 향하게 하는 역동적인 새 역사가 쓰이리라 기대된다.
The essay began with the question of “What Is the reality of Korean Christian?" Korean Christianity has suffered from by-products of its rapid growing up, which is resolved when the saints are reinterpreted in a positive way. The purpose of the essay is therefore to interpret the concept of "saints" in a dynamic way. In the beginning, human beings were created after God's images and likeness so that they could execute the cultural commands by God. However, human beings, contaminated by their sin, became very much weak and are unable to do it in their own ways. In order to renovate ourselves, the state of human beings are to be reconsidered. On the one hand, systematic theology claims that human beings are totally corrupted that they are not able to execute cultural commands as designed; 'SeeAll' thought originated by Ryu YeongMo develop to give dynamic and positive meanings to "saints" whose contents can make them begin new start not only for churches but for secular world, on the other hand. 'SeeAll' has helped to fertilize Korean societies into democracy, industrialization, and localization of western cultures so that they became in the end one of most developed countries afterwards. On being newly-good adapted, the concept of saints will record a new history of the way to which leads everything to truth.
