본 연구는 장애인복지관의 사회교육프로그램을 조사하고 분석하여 장애인들의 사회교육프로그램의 개선에 기여하고자 하는데 주안점을 두었다. 이를 위해 장애인복지관에서 실시하고 있는 프로그램을 조사하였고, 직업재활과 관련된 프로그램에 영향을 미치는 변인에 대해 분석하였다. 급변하는 현대사회에 대처하기 위한 사회교육 프로그램의 개발이나 운영이 필요할 것이다. 본 연구는 전국의 장애인복지관을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 효율적인 프로그램의 운영을 위해 실태 및 욕구조사를 실시하고 여가, 컴퓨터, 창업 등의 다양한 사회교육프로그램이 운영되고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 직업상담, 직업평가, 취업알선, 추수지도 등의 프로그램이 서로 상관관계가 있음을 밝혔고, 장애인복지관의 사회교육프로그램의 필요성은 주민교육프로그램과 취업알선프로그램과의 회귀분석을 통해 그 인과관계를 밝혔다.

Out of the 113 survey questionnaires sent to rehabilitation service centers, 70 were returned. The period of this study was from October of 2004 to January of 2004. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. First, the social education programs of the rehabilitation service centers were leisure program, computer education, establishment education et al. Second, there were statistically significant differences among the vocational counseling, vocational evaluation, job placement, and follow-up services. Third, the multiple regression analysis yielded the following findings. Necessity of the social education program could predict residents education, job placement factor.
