연구목적: 본 연구는 활동지원서비스를 이용하는 장애아동 부모가 경험한 서비스의 문제점이나 한계점을 살펴보고, 이를 바탕으로 그들의 개선욕구를 심층적으로 탐색하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 연구방법: 장애아동 부모 12명으로 구성된 3개의 초점집단을 대상으로 초점집단면담을 활용한 질적 연구를 수행하였다. 면담을 통해 얻은 자료들은 해석현상학적분석 방법을 통해 분석되었다. 연구결과: 분석결과 다음과 같은 세 가지 주요 주제가 도출되었다: (1) 서비스 제공의 사각지대, (2) 서비스 제공 인력에 대한 불만, (3) 아동에게 특화된 서비스에 대한 욕구. 결론: 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 장애아동과 부모에게 적절한 활동지원서비스 제공을 위해 필요한 정책적, 실천적 방안이 논의되었다.
Purpose: The purpose of the present study was to investigate problems and limitations of personal assistance service perceived by parents of children with disabilities and to explore their needs for service improvement. Method: Semi-structured interviews were conducted with three focus groups of 12 parents of children with disabilities. Results: Three themes were emerged: (1) Blind spot of the service, (2) Dissatisfaction with personal assistants, (3) Specialized service to children. Conclusion: Practical and political implications were discussed to improve the service in order to address the needs of children with disabilities and their parents.
