이 연구에서는 중학교를 중심으로 한 국어과 교육과정의 편성 방안과 국어교과서의 개발 방안을 논의하였다. 지금까지 우리나라 국어과 교육과정은 하위 영역이 엄격하게 분리되어 편성되어 왔다는 점을 고려하여 이 연구에서는 최근 전개되고 있는 국어과 교육과정의 ‘통합’을 ‘영역의 통합’으로 보았다. 이에 따라 이 연구에서는 통합 국어과 교육과정의 개발 방안을 제안하였는데, 그 방안은 다음과 같은 세 가지였다. 첫째, 핵심 역량 중심의 교육과정 편성, 둘째, 내용성취기준 우선주의 채택, 셋째, 학생 예시문을 활용한 내용성취기준의 구체화가 그것이다. 중학교 통합 국어교과서의 개발 방안으로는 다음 두 가지를 제안하였다. 첫째, 학습활동 교과서의 도입, 둘째, 목표 중심의 교과서 단원 구성이다.
The aims of this paper is to discuss and to explore the methods on developments of integrated Korean curriculum and school textbooks for the middle school students. In this paper, the meaning of ‘integration’ in Korean curriculum was regarded as the integration of sub-session of Korean curriculum, or across sub-session of Korean curriculum, and it’s interpretation style was made the principle for discussion and exploration. This paper presented the methods on development of Korean curriculum following：⑴ development of Korean curriculum based on Key Competences for a future, ⑵ adoption of standards priority in Korean curriculum, ⑶ specification of the standards based on the student writing samples. And this paper offered the methods on development of Korean school textbooks following : ⑴ imposition of Korean school textbook for classroom activities such as reading, writing, discussion, and presentation, ⑵ making the lesson unit based on learning goals or standards.
