The purpose of this paper is to make some practical suggestions for the advancement of Christian multicultural education based on the study of Korean multicultural society. For a long time the Korean society has emphasized its identity as a single ethnic culture. However, Korean society has been rapidly transforming into that of a multicultural one spurred on by an open-economy policy, internationalization, and global advances. A new multicultural Christian educational perspective that questions how the Korean Church should respond to such change in social phenomena is needed. Currently, most multicultural education programs and materials have been focusing on the adaption of the foreign/minority immigrants in the Korean context, such as learning both the Korean language and traditional culture. When compared to these general research trends, researches on Christian multicultural education in the Korean context are far too scarce. Considering this reality, the writer briefly introduces the concept of multicultural education within the Korean society. By thoroughly analyzing biblical understanding of multiculturalism, some suggestions on how the future Korean church should prepare the practices of Christian multicultural education are given.
