AB - Based on the theory of interdisciplinarity, this article deals with gender intwo diferent means of artistic expresion that are cinemat ographic andliterary works, especialy focusing on the films based on th e Colombianauthor Gabriel Garca Mrquez’s novel Chronicle of a Death Foretold. Asbeing a non-fiction ovel, his work is considered one of the t estimonial238 중남미 연구 제 권 호26 1literatures. In this context, the present study is designated to make ananalysis from the perspective of testimony. It aimes to clarify that heconceptual structure of sexual diference is not originated from the mater ofbiological sexuality, but it is found in the history and cultural formations inwhich "women"are constructed. Consequently, the gender issue is a politicalsystem where social structure is hardened by the ideology th at identifies theoposition betwen men/women. Considering these reasons, this workemphasizes the importance of the role of the artist who is responsible forcreating identities of othernes in women, as wel as of gend er diference.
