Tulasīdāsa is the most representative poet in the Hindi Rām Bhakti tradition and his great epic, Rāmcaritmānasa described the life of Rāma has been so tremendously exerting influence upon the life of indian people and society that it has been regarded as the Bilbe of North India. Although Kavitāvalī, the textual basis of this writing, is also related to the story of Rāma, it is remarkable that the chief characteristics of Kavitāvalī are different from those of Rāmcaritmānasa. The poet showed the view that his time and society was suffering because of the traits of Kalikal, the degenerate age in both works. And he gave the direct expression to the severe realities of Kailkal which he himself suffered in Kavitāvali while he projected the ideal society namely Rāma Rājya (the reign of Rāma) as the solution of Kalikal in Rāmcaritmānasa The purpose of this writing is to bring light to the fact that the literary world of Tulasīdāsa is multi dimensional by analyzing some aspects such as the views of God and human being, the path for the unification of man with God, the understanding of society expressed in Kavitāvali and the formal characteristics of this work. On the basis of textual analysis it can be said that he was keenly conscious of his time and society. And the fact that not only he described his social consciousness in realistic way but also showed his generous point of view and attitude towards humble, poor and suffering people in Kavitāvali that was not clearly manifested in Rāmcaritmānasa indicates that his literary world is multi dimensional.
