Keon-joo Eo. 2006. A Study of Russian Double Nominative Constructions of the Type : «Eto byl moj brat Ivan». Language and Linguistics 38, pp.15-33. The aim of this paper is to discribe the syntactic properties of russian double nominative constructions of the type «Eto byl moj brat Ivan» and the morphological properties of the pronoun Eto. This type of sentence consists of a form of verb BE, a pronoun Eto and a noun phrase in the nominative case. The second chapter is devoted to definition of the ordinary russian double nominative constructions and the pronominal substantive Eto. The third chapter deals with the russian double nominative constructions, copular sentences in which the predicate nominal stands in the nominative case. A Minimalist program and cognitive and structural analysis are employed as the theoretical framework in analyzing the syntactic and semantic structure of these constructions.
