Wenzi Wadang(文字瓦當) is indicated diversely depending on shape, font, and content in Wadang (tile of being covered on the edge of the protruding corners of Korean eaves). Wenzi Wadang(文字瓦當) is divided into Gongdian list(宮殿類), Guanshu list(官署類), Lingmu list(陵墓類), Sitang list(祠堂類), Jishi list(記事類), and Jiyu list(吉語類) according to its content. Out of Munja Wadang, Jiyu list(吉語類) is what had indicated Jixiangyu(吉祥語), which had been prevailed in the contemporary society, and what had indicated people’s praying. This Jiyu list(吉語類) is divided into Qian-qiu-wan-sui list(千秋萬歲類), Chang-le-wei-ang list(長樂未央類), Yan-nian-yi-shou list(延年益壽類), Fu-gui list(富貴類), Yi-nian-wu-jiang list(億年無疆類), Yong-feng-wu-jiang list(永奉無疆類), and others. Qian-qiu-wan-sui list(千秋萬歲類), which possesses the largest volume out of Wenzi Wadang(文字瓦當) in Jiyu list(吉語類), was used much in Jixiangsongci(吉祥誦詞) at that time when Wadang had been made, thereby having many and also abundant kinds. It was used relatively widely such as Gongdian(宮殿), Lingmu(陵墓), Guanshu(官署), Changlin(倉廩), and Yuanyu(苑囿). Wadang in Qian-qiu-wan-sui list(千秋萬歲類) has totally about 200 fonts. Given examining actual Wadang, which had been excavated, this can be also known to have been developed into Wadang in several forms. Qian-qiu(千秋- thousand years) is one out of Qian-qiu-wan-sui list(千秋萬歲類). The purpose of this study is to consider on the meaning in the letter of Wenzi Wadang(文字瓦當), which was combined and arranged by using the character of Qian-qiu(千秋), and on a cause for its meaning to be indicated.
