이 연구는 북한 아동영화의 현황과 작품분석을 통해 북한 아동영화‘ ’에 대한 이해를 높이는데 목적이 있다 현재 북한 아동영화는 기술적인.측면과 예술적인 측면에서 고른 기량을 보임으로써 세계 영화시장에서주목을 받고 있다 본고는 북한 아동영화의 흐름과 위상을 검토함으로.써 북한 아동영화가 표면적 정치성을 넘어 교육성 예술성 오락성 등, 문화적 소양까지 강하게 품고 있음을 드러내려 하였다 이는 북한이 아.동영화를 통해 사상교육보다는 일반 교육에 더 큰 비중을 두고 있음을증명한다 또한 이러한 특성은 북한영화가 지닌 예술성과도 직결되고.있다 북한 만화영화 작가들은 사실주의에 입각하여 창작하라는 김일. ‘ ’성의 교시에 위배되지 않는 범위에서 전통 민담이나 설화 모티브를 차용한 현대적 우화를 애니메이션으로 재탄생시키는 방법을 선택하였다.이러한 표현 방식은 정치성보다 미학에 비중을 두게 하였고 보는 미‘학으로의 동기로 작용하여 결과적으로 영상의 높은 미적 완성도라는’성과를 낳은 것이다.지형영화 아금랑 은 전통 민담과 설화에서 모티프를 차용한 아동영화로 표층적 주제로 애국주의를 표방하고 있다 그러나 이러한 애국주.의 기저에는 조선민족제일주의가 자리 잡고 있음을 작품 분석을 통해 확인할 수 있었다.


The aim of this study is to show the current status of animation in North Korea and to enhance the understanding of the “Animation in North Korea” through the analysis of those works. The global cinema markets are currently eying on the North Korean animation because of their superb qualities in the aspects of techniques and arts. This present study has aimed at revealing the fact that the North Korean animation have strongly expressed education, art, and cultural accomplishments like entertainment beyond the superficial political nature, by analyzing the flow and phases of the North Korean animation. It shows that the North Koreans put more emphasis on the general education than on the ideology education by Animation. Moreover, this characteristics is directly linked to the artistic characteristics of the North Korean animations. The animation writers in North Korea have chosen the methods to make modern allegory, borrowing the motifs from traditional folk tales or legends, born again as animations within the instruction to ‘create on the ground of realism’ which was inspired by Kim Il-sung. These ways of expression have led them to put their emphasis on aesthetics than politics and to consequently bear achievements of the works with higher aesthetical standards on the screen since they have been working as a motivation for ‘watching aesthetics’. The Cut out animation titled Ageumrang advocates for the cause of patriotism as an external theme through the Animation borrowing the motifs from traditional folk tales or legends. It has been verified, however, by the analysis of the works that there is Chosun ethnic nationalism deeply set in the foundation of such patriotism.
