이바라기 노리코 茨木のり子(1926-2006)는 일본을 대표하는 여류시인이다. 대표작「내가 가장 예뻤을 때」는 전쟁으로 청춘을 송두리째 빼앗긴 여성의 분노와 회한, 그리고 미래에 대한 희망을 노래한 시로 전후시(戰後詩)의 걸작으로 평가되고 있다. 국가와 민족, 언어, 그리고 이웃과의 소통 등의 주제를 평이하면서도 아름다운 일본어로 표현한 이바라기의 시와 글들은 많은 사람들의 공감을 자아냈다. 여류시인하면 섬세하고 여린 감성으로 자연과 사랑을 노래한 시들을 연상하게 되는데, 이와는 대조적으로 이바라기는 밝고 씩씩한 시들을 쓰려고 노력했던 시인이었다. 슬픔을 기조로 하는 사랑노래들은 그녀와 무관한 것으로 생각되었다. 그러나 남편과의 사별 후, 30여 년의 세월을 홀로 살며 그녀는 남편에대한 사랑과 그리움을 일련의 사부곡(思夫曲)에 담아 고이 간직하였다. 이바라기는 이 시들을 생전에 공표하지 않았고, 유고는 사후 일 년이 지나『세월』이라는제목으로 출간되었다. 39편의 시가 수록된 이 시집에는 죽음도 갈라놓지 못했던한 여인의 남편을 향한 사랑, 그 절절한 그리움과 사모의 정이 진솔하게 그려져있다. 남편과의 일상의 단편들, 추억, 슬픔, 성(性), 결혼 등의 내용이 담긴 이 시들은 종래의 이바라기의 시 세계와는 다른 일면을 보여준다. 본고에서는『세월』에 수록된 시들을 중심으로 이바리기의 남편에 대한 사랑, 그리고 결혼과 죽음에대한 생각들을 살펴보았다. 이바라기 연구는 전후시를 대표하는 시인으로서는 물론이고, 만가(挽歌)의 시인으로서의 새로운 면모를 시야에 넣을 때 보다 입체적인 시인상이 구축되리라 생각한다.
Saigetsu, a collection of Ibaragi Noriko's Love Songs was published a year after the death of the poetess. Ibaragi Noriko(1926-2006) who is widely known as the poet of "When I was Most Beautiful," "June" and "Your Own Sensitivity, At Least" wrote poems about war, nation, language and communication in simple and refined Japanese. She is regarded as a representative postwar Japanese poet, and her positive and vivacious poems gave much hope and courage to the readers. Unlike most Japanese woman writers, Ibaragi rarely wrote poems on love and nature. After the death of her husband, she wrote a series of poems lamenting his death but she refused to publish them in her lifetime. This paper is a study on Ibargi's Love Songs collected in Saigetsu (2007). The 39 poems in this collection reveal Ibaragi's constant love and longings for her bereaved husband. Ibaragi's husband who was a medical doctor showed understanding towards his wife's activity as a poet. Ibaragi's respect and love for her husband was so deep that when he died at the age of 57, she wrote that she "cried like a tiger" and even thought of following him. The passionate and moving love poems show us a very different aspect of the poet. This paper mainly focuses on "The Only Person" "Two Cooks" "Spring" "Occupied" "Playing in Dreams""Night Garden" and "I have to Hurry". A study on these poems is sure to throw a new light on the inner and human aspect of the poet.
