공공조직 구성원들이 공익의 증진을 위해 효과적인 서비스를 제공하려는 동기이자 지역사회를 위해 헌신하고 봉사하려는 이타적인 동기로 정의되는 공공서비스동기(PSM)는 일반 공무원에 비해 더욱더 요구되는 봉사와 헌신의 자세가 필요한 해양경찰공무원들에게는 반드시 필요한 요인이다. 이 연구에서는 해양경찰공무원의 공공서비스동기(PSM)가 직무만족이나 조직몰입과 같은 직무태도에 어떠한 영향 관계를 있는 지를 살펴보았다. 분석결과, 해양경찰공무원의 공공정책의 호감도가 높아지거나, 공익에 대한 몰입도가 높아질 경우 역시 직무만족이 낮아지는 결과를 도출하였다. 또한, 공공정책의 호감도가 높아지면 감정몰입 정도가 낮아지나 자기희생정도가 높아지면 감정몰입의 정도도 높아졌고, 규범몰입에 미친 영향의 경우, 공공정책의 호감도가 높아지는 경우나 공익몰입이 높아진 경우 모두 규범몰입의 정도는 낮아진다는 결과가 나타났다. 이 연구에서는 공공서비스동기(PSM)가 미치는 영향들에 대해 기존 선행연구들과는 다른 연구결과들이 나타났다는 점에서 국내 공공조직 특히 해양경찰조직만의 공공서비스동기(PSM)를 측정할 수 있는 측정도구를 개발하고, 공공서비스동기(PSM)가 미치는 결과변수들을 조절하는 잠재변수의 필요성을 제시하였다.

Also, the higher the desirability of public policy degree of emotional involvement or low degree of self-sacrifice at higher degree of emotional involvement was high, the average impact on the case of commitment, a higher desirability of public policy or public interest cases if higher commitment both the lower the degree of normative commitment was the result. In this study, the effects of public service motivation to study the existing different from previous studies showed that the Korea Coast Guard organization in the country, but especially in public sector public service motivation to develop measurement tools that can be measured, and public service motivation the consequences of latent variables need to adjust the parameters are presented.
