Second, it intends to present the reality behind the influencing power of the nobles in the Tibetan society. The study is mainly concerned with the ‘Yab-Gzhis(亞谿)’ noble group, which is also called ‘the golden noble’ group. Yab-gzhis reigns superior among Tibetan aristocracies, which encompasses Dalai Lama's family circle. The existence and the legacy, as well as the origin of these golden nobles which started from the seventh Dalai Lama are closely examined. Such observation explains the movement from the social status and positions of other noble groups and why they were referred to as ‘the golden nobles.’ In addition, it also studies the implications and dilemma caused by these golden nobles.
