이 글은 여순 사건과 한국 전쟁과 같은 역사를 문학으로 번역하는 작업을 한 오영진, 김동리, 김이석, 차범석의 작품들을 분석하였다. 특히 김동리나 차범석의 문제작은 여순 사건과 한국 전쟁 당시 민간인 집단 학살이라는 권력과 국민에 의한 민족 정화의 비참한 사례를 번역한 것으로, 대한민국의 역사가 국민의 확장과 비국민의 억압의 역사임을 반증하는 하는 좋은 본보기이다. 여기서 반공 내셔널리즘의 자기 내면화는 황폐한 현실을 그대로 승인하는 방법이다. 이미 견고하게 짜인 반공 내셔널리즘의 틀 위에서 사유하고 기억하도록 코드화하게 만드는 것이 바로 작가가 펼쳐 보인 이념 무용론의 결과이다. 특히 문제의 핵심인 여순 사건과 한국 전쟁을 문학으로 번역한 작품들은 역사적 사실을 재현한 것 같지만 실제로는 사실이라 명명되는 허구이다. 이들의 문제작은 순수한 세계의 이면에 감추어진 단정 수립 이후 반공으로 가려진 광기와 살육의 현장을 은폐하는 매우 탁월한 반사경이다. 그래서 ‘공식적인’ 역사를 번역하는 문학적 실천은 정치적으로 매우 위험한 것이다. 여기서 양귀비가 마약 중독의 원료가 되듯이, 번역된 역사는 반공 내셔널리즘의 원료가 된다.
I analyzed Oh Young-Jin, Kim Dong-Li, Kim I-Seok and Cha Beom- Seok’s works which translated the history such as the event in Yeosun and the Korean War into literature. These works show tragedy event of national purification by state power like mass slaughter and they are good samples which represent that the Korean history is the history of national expansion and non-national suppression. Self-internalization of anti-communist nationalism is the way to accept ruined reality and it causes nihilism which neutralizes the hope of changes unlike the author’s intention. Making the nation privatize and memorize through firm anti- communist nationalism is the result of ideological uselessness by the author. It seems that the works which translated the event in Yeosun and the Korean War into literature reproduce the historical events, but they are fiction named reality. Their works is mirror which covers up the scene of a insane bloodbath which is concealed behind pure world through anti-communist after the division of Korea In this aspect, it is very dangerous to translated history into these authors’ works.
