Yeongun(longing for a lover) poems during the Joseon Dynasty is literary expression of capital-centered mentality. It was local literary outcome that was produced by special conscious and emotion of the aristocratic class who were based on Seoul and regions adjacent to Seoul. Main writers of Yeongun poems were Gyeonggyo people who were born in Seoul and lived in Seoul and regions adjacent to Seoul. Yeongun poems was the outcome of capital-centered mentality among the aristocratic class in Seoul reflecting capital-centered thought based on discrimination. Literary emotion of 「yeongun」 was based on their unique mental geography distinguishing the inside and the outside of regions adjacent to Seoul. Yeongun poems generally designate their literary space with the tragic space of the Oh dynasty and the Cho dynasty of China, that is, the south of Yangtze river. This is the expression of mental geography of the aristocratic class in Seoul who distinctively recognized the inside and the outside of Han River Waterway.
