Because of the Internet and the widespread availability of information in digital form, plagiarism is easier to commit and more tempting than ever before. This phenomenon means that we have the need to define the plagiarism standards more clearly and to prevent the growing illegal plagiarism. In this context, this article, at first,defines plagiarism as 'intentionally taking the literary property of another without attribution and passing it off as one's own, having failed to add anything of value to the copied material and having reaped from its use an unearned benefit.' And then, after reviewing the relevant clauses of our current law, such as copyright law,criminal law, etc., to regulate plagiarism, self-plagiarism, reverseplagiarism and copyright infringement, this article proposes some legal recommendations for the increased regulation of plagiarism.
