본고는 한국에서 편찬된 자전류를 중심으로 한자음 처리의 원칙과 방법을 비교하면서 앞으로의 자전 편찬(또는 국가적 차원에서의 한자음 표준화) 과정에서 추구해야 할 바람직한 방향을 모색함에 목표를 둔 것이다. 이를 위하여 제2장에서는 「万」자의 예를 중심으로 국내외의 대표적인 자전 17종을 대상으로 한자음 처리의역사를 살펴보았으며, 제3장에서는 현대에 편찬된 국내 자전 6종의 「凡例」에서 밝힌 한자음 처리의 원칙을 비교하는 한편, 세 가지 유형으로 나누어 실제 자전들에서의 처리 실태에 대한 비교도 행한 것이다. 이상의 논의를 통하여 한국에서 최근에 편찬된 자전일수록 한자음 처리의 원칙이나 실제에 있어서 상당한 진전이 이루어졌음을 확인한 바 있다. 제4장에서는 언어정책 기관에서 한자음 표준화에 대한 관심을 촉구하면서 자전류 한자음 처리의 방향을 7개 항목으로 정리하여 본고의 결론으로 삼았다. (1) 標題字의 한자음은 “韓國漢字音, 韻目字·聲調·反切<根據 韻書>, 中國音, 日本音”의 체재가 바람직, (2) 標準音 제시에 힘쓰는 한편, 本音·慣用音(·古音)을 망라함으로써 한자생활을 위한 준거뿐만 아니라, 한자음 연구의 참고 자료로서의 기능도 겸하는 것이 바람직, (3) 韻目字를 포함한 한자음의 근거는 集韻의 反 切에 더하여 廣韻·玉篇·正字通·字彙, 經書 集注音 등으로 확대함이 바람직. 또한 한자음 연구의참고 기능을 겸하기 위해서는 기존의 운목자 정보 외에 “聲調·韻母+聲母” 정보 제시의 체재로 전환이 필요, (4) 일상에 많이 쓰는 글자들을 중심으로 中國音은 漢語 拼音字母에 따른 로마자로 표기하고, 日本音은 가타가나를 이용하여 漢音·吳音을 병기함이 바람직, (5) 複數 漢字音은 근거 反切에 依據 …으로 구별하여제시함이 바람직, (6) 두음법칙 및 어휘적 특수성에 따른 속음의 처리는 어휘 용례에 제시, (7) 字音에서의 音 長 정보도 제시함이 바람직하다.
As comparing between the process of the sounds of Sino-Korean characters and the manner of them in Chinese character dictionaries which has been published in Korean, this paper aims at finding a desirable direction when compiling Chinese character dictionaries (or the standardization of the sounds of Sino-Korean Characters as a national project). In order to realize this goal, in Chapter 2 this paper scrutinized a Sino-Korean character ‘万’ as a typical example of the history of the process of the sounds of Sino-Korean characters in 17 different domestic and foreign Sino-Korean dictionaries. In Chapter 3, we attempted to compare the principles of the process of Sino-Korean characters which were displayed as ‘model examples’ in 6 different Sino-Korean dictionaries published recently and based on the result of the comparison, we tried to classify the principles of them as 3 different types and figured out how to process the sounds of Sino-Korean characters in the actual dictionaries. In view of the discussion so far achieved, we could identify the fact that the more recently the Sino-Korean dictionary was published, the more the principles of the process of the sounds of Sino-Korean characters and the application of them were developed. In Chapter 4, as the conclusion, this paper organized the directions of the process of the sounds of Sino-Korean characters in Sino-Korean dictionaries as 7 different items and urged the organizations which made certain linguistic policy to pay attention to the standardization of the sound of Sino-Korean characters.
