In this article, I took a general view of the problems of the volitional evolution implicated in the transhumanistic posthuman project, and then examined some difficult points contained in it. That is to say, firstly I explained what is the transhumanistic posthuaman project (Ch. 2) and what are the problems of the volitional evolution contained in it (Ch. 3), focusing on Nick Bostroms works. And then I brought forward some problems which might be cropped in transhumanist s conception of the volitional evolution contained in the executive strategy of the posthuman project (Ch. 4). They are an immanent problem of human enhancement, a problem on environmental conditions of human enhancement, and a political problem. This study does not aim to discuss for or against the transhumanistic posthuman project, but to examine the meanings of the project from a variety of viewpoints. Because the posthuman will not only be aging, but also enjoy longevity and have physically and mentally enhanced functions, most ordinary men may think of the posthuman life as fascinating. But it is not plausible to concentrate our energies on the posthuman project because the posthuman life seems to be very fascinating. Therefore, we need to be more prudent, and must deliberate on and discuss it very seriously. From this study, I wish to arouse manifold discourses on the transhumanistic posthuman project.
