This thesis aims for searching for the meaning of the paradigm shift of Shilla Dynasty's social value. About the time of unification of three traditional dynasties, ‘Filial piety centered on loyalty', Shilla's own social value paradigm, changed into ‘loyalty centered on filial piety' The virtue which supported ‘filial piety centered on loyalty’ was The Common Five Commandments, which was the rule of ‘Pung-wal Do’. The virtue which supported ‘loyalty centered on filial piety’ was The Moral Rules to Govern the Five Human Relations, which was derived from Confucianism. Eventually, starting from the unification of three traditional dynasties, Shilla changed its social value paradigm, the existing local Pung-wal do, into the imported idea, Confucianism. ‘Pung-wal do’ was based on nomadism culture, and it considered agricultural culture to be subordinate, but agricultural culture was the opposite of Pung-wal do. The reason and opportunity of paradigm shift was Kim, Heum-Dol's rebellion and Dang Dynasty's restraint. From now on, this paradigm shift requires more in-depth study.
