This article is an attempt to look into the performative argumentation structure which appears in Zuang-Zi: The Inner Chapters. The Inner Chapters in continuation of other thoughts, in general, shows two inherent moral thoughts of Tao. One is the external Way for freedom and, the other is internal Way for Sagacity. These two Ways are the two different perspectives of the Tao’s original one Way. The first chapter (going leisurely without a destination)’s big fish and big bird story summarizes the whole contents as an introduction. The story about the dream of a butterfly in the second chapter (sorting the evens things out) is known and learnt by many people. This story is a climax of argumentation. The last story in the seventh chapter (Responding to Emperors and Kings), an account of a Chaos King concludes the whole contents with fine arguments. It demonstrates a very precise and elaborative argumentation structure. The important point is, this argumentative structure is not just a simple logical explanation but to acquire mastery through this simple demonstration structure.
