본 연구는 북한이탈여성들의 성적 외상 경험에 대한 현상학적 연구이다. 10대 후반에서 30대의 나이에 탈북을 경험한 7인의 여성에 대한 심층 면접을 토대로 분석한 본 연구 결과는 1) 탈북의 급류 속에 “나”를 잃다, 2) 도구로서의 “나”, 도구로서의 “너”를 만나다, 3) “나”를 버리고 껍데기만 남다 의 세 가지 구성요소가 도출되었다. 이들의 북한 이탈 과정에서의 성적 외상 경험의 의미는 “사람다움을 잃고 생존을 건지다”로 드러났다. 이러한 연구 결과를 기반으로 성적 외상을 경험한 북한 이탈 여성들에 대한 개입을 계획할 때, 여성이라는 특수성으로 인해 경험되는 외상에 대한 새로운 시선과 함께 북한 이탈 여성의 성적 외상 경험에 대한 차별화된 개입의 필요성을 제시하였다.
The study is phenomenological research on sexual trauma experienced by North Korean female defectors in the process of defection. In-depth interviews with seven females aged between late-teenagers to thirties and experienced escaped from North Korea drew three components of sexual trauma:1) Loss of 'myself, or ego' in the wave of exodus from North Korea, 2)I myself qua instrument, meet you as for tool. 3) abandoned "myself, or ego" left skin and shell. The meaning of these people's experiences is that "they had to choose survival over losing their humanity". The study suggests that mental health services and prescribed healing process for sexual trauma for the North Korean female defectors should be included in the service delivery system.
