This paper (or this study) is an attempt to analyse the film 'peppermint candy'with the term Leitmotif! The concept of the Leitmotif was first used and developped in the field of music. In the music is the Leitmotif a melodic part that recurs frequently in different versions; it also symbolises associatively a certain meaning or theme. In the literature, this term is executed as dividing and connecting structual elements. The film 'peppermint candy' explores the time! To express the time and the transformation of the people in this time, the film presents different images that recur varying. This technique is meant by the term Leitmotif. Accordingly, this paper analyses six 'picture chains' from the film as Leitmotifs of the film: the train that is moving backward; the camera; limping; the hand; peppermint candy; excursiones.
