Teaching Korean as a Foreign Language, 29, 231~280. The rate of literature education has been increased in the KFL. In spite of that, the systematic arrangement and effective method have been insufficient. The purpose of this study is to prove the effectiveness of the literature text in increasing the learner's language ability, and introducing Korean culture. For this purpose, we are introducing the character of the literature class in Yonsei KLI, such as curriculum, syllabus, learners, and text. The regular syllabus can be managed variably to the class by the teacher. Last semester's literature class has managed as two different types. One was focusing on the history of Korean literature and the other was focusing on the learners. This study also provided several examples available to adopt at literature class. Those classes dealt with poems, essays, and novels from the 1920's to the 1990's. This study will be the first step to fertilize furthermore discussion about teaching literature in KFL.
