이 논문에서는 고등학생의 인권감수성을 통해 학교인권교육의 현주소를 살펴보고 향후 인권교육의 방향을 모색해보고자 하였다. 구체적인 분석을 위해서는 질문지법으로 자료를 수집하였으며, 조사 대상은 서귀포시 소재 5개 고등학교 2학년 학생 188명이다. 분석결과, 다음과 같은 점들을 알 수 있다. 먼저 서귀포시 고등학생들의 인권감수성은 전반적으로 낮았는데, 행동영역인 책임지각이 특히 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 특히, 인문계 학생보다는 전문계 학생, 여학생보다는 남학생, 그리고 성적이 중위권 이상인 학생보다는 하위권 학생의 인권감수성 점수가 상대적으로 더 낮게 나타났고, 인권교육의 경험 유무 또한 학생의 인권감수성에 그다지 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 다음으로 인권항목별로 인권감수성을 살펴본 결과, 학생들 자신과 관련된 인권항목에서는 인권감수성이 높게 나타난 반면, 자신과 무관한 인권항목에서는 인권감수성이 낮게 나타났다. 이를 통해 학생들 사이에 다수를 위해 소수가 희생되어도 무방하다는 의식이 팽배하다는 것을 알 수 있다. 이 논문의 분석 결과에 기반해 향후 학교인권교육의 방향을 제시하면, 먼저 인권의 행동적 영역에 대한 교육에 보다 관심을 기울일 필요가 있고, 전문계 학생과 남학생 그리고 성적이 낮은 학생들에 대한 인권교육이 보다 강화되어야 할 것이다. 다음으로 자신의 권리보다 타인의 권리 그리고 소수자의 권리를 인식하고 존중하며 그에 맞는 행동을 취할 수 있도록 하는 행동적 영역의 인권교육을 강화시킬 필요가 있다.
The purpose of this article is to present a direction to upgrade the quality of the human rights education. This is based on human rights sensibility analysis of high school students in Seogwipo area, Jeju-do. The subjects were chosen 188 persons in the second-year students in five general high schools in Seogwipo area. This research made analyzed questionnaire, and next analyzed a data from it. The questionnaire made inquiries about variable of human rights sensibility and human rights sensibility analysis tools. The analysis used SPSS 12.0 for Windows. To find out this relation, the research questions below were set. The first question is what is the result of human rights sensibility of students. The second one is what are differences in human rights sensibility depending on characteristic of students. The third one is what is the result of human rights sensibility of students depending on each human rights category is included this study. The results in this article are like below. Firstly, there seems to be a little low level about human rights sensibility of students and perception of responsibilities is Specially low level. Secondly, there seems to be human rights sensibility of vocational high school students lower than academic high school students's it, boy students's it lower than girl students's it and low graded students's it lower than middle and high graded student's it. Additionally, there seems to be high level about human rights sensibility are related to themselves. But there seems to be low level about human rights sensibility aren't related to themselves. The suggestions in the study are like below. It is necessary to strengthen human rights education, because there seems to be low level about human rights sensibility of students. Specially, according to low level about the perceived perception of students, it is necessary to be interested in education about an action area. And, it is necessary to be very sensitive about human education for vocational high school students, boy students and low graded students are shown meaningful difference depending on characteristic of students. In addition, students must learn to recognize and respect rights of others and to act along those.
