본 연구에서는 중학교 과학수업에 Jigsaw Ⅲ 협동학습 모형을 적용하여 전통적 학습 모형과 비교해 봄으로써 Jigsaw Ⅲ 협동학습이 수업 처치, 성 차이, 성적 차이에 따라 과학학업성취도와 과학학습태도에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 알아보고 남녀 분리반 여학생의 과학수업에 더욱 효과적인 학습 모형을 모색하려고 하였다. 남녀 분리반 중학교 2학년 4개 학급을 대상으로 하였다. 연구 대상은 전통적 수업 학급 여자 36명, 남자 35명, Jigsaw Ⅲ 협동학습 학급 여자 38명, 남자 34 명으로 총 143명이었다. 수업은 중학교 2학년 전기 단원에 대해 총 18차시 수업을 실시하였다. 실험반 수업은 수업 내용과 관련하여 개발한 학습 자료를 사용하였고 통제반에서는 교과서 내용을 중심으로 전통적인 강의 중심 수업을 하였다. 수업 처치, 성, 성적 차이에 따른 차이를 알아보기 위해서 성취도 검사와 학습태도 검사를 사전 사후에 각각 실시하였고, 사전검사 점수를 공변인으로 한 공변량분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과, Jigsaw Ⅲ 협동학습은 실험반의 중학교 여학생들의 주관식 과학학업성취도 향상에 도움이 되었고, 중하위 성적 학생들의 과학학업성취도를 향상시키는 데도 효과적이었고, 과학학습태도 면에서는 Jigsaw Ⅲ 협동학습이 스스로 공부하는 자율학습태도를 향상시켰다. 의견 조사에서 남학생보다는 여학생들이 Jigsaw Ⅲ 협동학습에 대해 더 긍정적이었다. 그러므로 Jigsaw Ⅲ 협동학습은 남녀 분리반 여학생과 중하위 성적 학생들의 과학학업성취도와 자율학습태도를 향상시키는 데 효과가 큰 수업모형이라고 할 수 있겠다.
In this study, Jigsaw Ⅲ cooperative learning strategy and traditional learning strategy have been applied to the ‘electricity’ chapter of grade 8 science textbooks to know the effects of learning strategy, gender, and GPA on the students' science achievement and science learning attitude of middle school female students in genderseparated classes. For this purpose, 143 students of 4 classes in separated classes were chosen from a middle school in Daegu. One female class and one male class were assigned to the experimental group and other female class and male class were assigned to the control group. Traditional learning strategy was applied to the control group and the Jigsaw Ⅲ cooperative learning strategy was applied to the experimental group. Four worksheets for expert groups were used for 18 hours through 5 weeks. Both tests for science achievement and learning attitude were administered as pre and post test. The test results were analyzed through analysis of covariance(ANCOVA) as pre test score as covariant. The overall conclusions of this study were as follows: The Jigsaw Ⅲ cooperative learning has improved science achievement, especially on subjective-type questions, of female students and mid-lower level students. The Jigsaw Ⅲ Cooperative Learning has also improved self-directed attitude toward science learning. Female students have expressed more positive opinion about the Jigsaw Ⅲ cooperative learning.
