본 논문은 단재 신채호의 정치사상에 관한 연구이다. 단재는 한국근대사가 낳은 최대의 사상가이자 역사가이다. 그동안 단재에 대한 연구는 주로 역사학자를 중심으로 이루어진 것이 대부분을 차지하고 있다. 본 논문은 이러한 기존 연구를 기초로 하여 단재의 정치사상을 집중분석하고 있다. 단재의 정치사상을 제대로 규명하기 위해 본 논문에서는 우선 단재의 기본인식으로 역사관과 국가관을 구체적으로 다루었다. 이를 기초로 단재의 정치사상의 내용은 크게 네 가지로 나누어 분석하였다. 첫째, 반제국주의론이다. 단재는 제국주의에 대한 반대의사를 분명히 하고 자유와 정의 그리고 평등의 가치가 꽃피는 문명국가를 지향하고 있다. 둘째, 민족주체론을 지적할 수 있다. 민족주체론은 역사에의 복원으로 시작하여 민족의 자강론으로 연결되고 있다. 셋째, 단재의 정치사상은 민중혁명론으로 이어지고 있다. 민중이 중심이 된 직접적인 폭력혁명을 그는 강조하고 있다. 마지막으로 단재의 정치사상은 반권위주의론으로 귀결할 수 있다. 반권위주의론의 핵심은 크게 반제도와 반도덕론으로 나눌 수 있다. 이러한 그의 반권위주의론은 오늘 시대에 적합한 사상성을 지니고 있다고 평가된다.
This thesis is the study on the political thought of Dan Jae Shin Che-Ho. Dan Jae is the most thinker and historian in the modern Korean history. Meanwhile, the study on Dan Jae has so far been conducted through historian. This thesis has analyzed the political thought of Dan Jae basing this existing research work by historians. For analysing the political thought of Dan Jae, this paper is mainly on the view of state and history of Dan Jae. Based this view of Dan Jae, there are four classifications of the political thought of Dan Jae. First, the political thought of Dan Jae is expressed as a theory of anti-imperialism. Dan Jae aims for the civilized country keeping the values of freeom, justice and equality. Secondly, he emphasized the theory of national identity. A theory of national identity based the restoration of history is connected with the theory of national strenuous efforts. Following this thoughts, he laid down a theory of popular revolution. He emphasized a direct revolution by peoples. Finally, he has asserted theory of anti-authoritarianism.
