The hierarchy of social space in the Yusin Period(1970s) was intended to supplement the spatial inequality and was used as ruling ideology by the state. It created the spatial dominance relation and the structure of feelings which is still active in Korean society. The various literary texts in the 1970s represented a hierarchy of social space: Seoul-centrism, urban-centrism, confrontation between Seoul and Capital area, competition between a new industrial complex city and the Capital area, antagonism between old downtown areas(Gangbuk) and new urban area(Gangnam), and so on. In this period, the longing and envy for Seoul disappeared and the rural hometown didn't function as a place of consolation and rest, unlike in the 1960s. On the contrary, intense ressentiment, explosion of rage towards Seoul, hostility and enmity were combined with victim mentality and a sense of losing homelands were expressed as self-pride in locality. Until now, these feelings and mentality have not yet to be resolved and transformed.
