이 논문은 과거 20년 동안 출판된 문화경제학 연구 산출물 중 출간된 논문과 단행본의 제목을 비교하여 발간물들이 문화경제학의 어떤 연구 영역에 얼마나 집중되어 있으며 어떤 유형의 연구인가를 분석하고 그 시사점을 점검하여 앞으로 이 분야의 연구가 나가야 할 방향을 제시하고자 하는 논문이다. 「문화경제연구」와「문화정책논총」에 게재된 논문, 그리고 단행본으로 발간된 여러 연구소의 연구보고서에는 문화정책에 관한 연구가 가장 많았고 문화산업 중에서는 영화산업에 관한 연구가 가장 많았다. 2000년대 들어 연구산출물이 크게 증대한 것으로 미루어보아 전문학회인 한국문화경제학회의 설립과 전문 연구소인 한국문화관광연구원의 개원이 긍정적 영향을 미친 것으로 사료된다.
This paper surveys the titles of papers and monographs published in Korea in cultural economics field over the past twenty years to analyze the research areas, types of research output, and their implications. Cultural policy is the dominant research area of the published papers in the Review of Cultural Economics, the Journal of Cultural Policy, as well as of the monographs published by research institutes. The movie industry is the most frequently studied research area among cultural industries. Judging from the notable increase in the volume of research papers and monographs in the early 2000s, the establishment of the Korean Association for Cultural Economics, and the founding of the Korea Culture & Tourism Institute seem to have positively contributed to promoting research in cultural economics.
