One of the important tasks of feminist pastoral counselors for the sexual victims is to discover useful biblical resources for them in various ways. There are many sexual victims in the Bible. The understanding of their stories may empower or dis-empower the sexual victims in our contemporary societies. ‘Han Woman-Playing’ which I propose in this article can be an alternative way of reading the Bible for the sexual victims. This reading includes two dimensions. Firstly, it is a woman’s reading which focuses on women’s experiences and perspectives. Secondly, it is a sort of playing, in which none has an authoritarian power. The term, ‘playing’ is borrowed from Donald Winnicott. Han woman-Playing is, thus, a woman’s assertive and playful biblical reading. However, this kind of biblical reading as Han Woman-Playing is different from that of a traditional feminist theology on three aspects of Han. ‘Han’ in Korean means, first of all, an individual. The reading focuses on one’s particularities and differences. The so-called universal experiences of women should not dominate one’s particular experiences. Both should compete with each other. Secondly, Han in Korean means diversity and multiplicity. Sexual victims should not be defined as having one single identity. The victims are also open to have different and multiple identities. Finally, Han in Korean means Korean-ness. Korean resources and Korean women’s experiences of sexual violence are very important resources in the interpretation of the biblical stories of the sexual violence. From the perspectives, two stories of sexual victims of the Bible are re-read.
