이 논문에서는 1920년대 ‘소 부리는 말’에 대한 방언자료집 『朝鮮に於ける畜 牛使役用語』를 새로이 발굴하여, 『朝鮮に於ける畜牛使役用語』에 수록된 내용을소개하고, ‘소 부리는 말’이 가지는 언어적 특징을 고찰하였다. 『朝鮮に於ける畜牛使役用語』가 보여 주는 내용 상의 특징에 대해 다음 사항을언급하였다. 1. 편찬 목적은 전국 13도의 ‘소 부리는 말’을 정리하는 것이었다. 2. 일본인 吉田雄次郞이 편찬자였을 것으로 추정하였다. 3. 전국 시ㆍ군 단위로자료 조사를 하였을 것이나 자료 제시는 도를 기준으로 제시하였다. 4. ‘소 부리는 말’의 조사 항목이 78개이며 모두 801개의 어형이 수록되었음을 확인하였다. 5. ‘소 부리는 말’은 지시어와 호칭어로 구분될 수 있으며 ‘소 부리는 말’은 ‘지시어, 경계어, 호칭어, 꾸짖는 말, 애무어’ 등으로 구분될 수 있음을 언급하였다. 6. 『표준국어대사전』에 수록된 ‘소 부리는 말’과 대조하여 『朝鮮に於ける畜牛使 役用語』에 다양한 ‘소 부리는 말’이 풍부하게 수록되어 있음을 확인하였다. 『朝鮮に於ける畜牛使役用語』에 수록된 ‘소 부리는 말’이 다음과 같은 언어적특징을 가지고 있음을 파악하였다. 1. ‘소 부리는 말’로 의성어와 일반 어휘가사용되고 있음을 확인하였다. 2. ‘소 부리는 말’이 1단어의 특징도 가지고 있음을 확인하였다. 3. ‘소 부리는 말’이 반복적 특징을 가지고 있음을 확인하였다. 4. ‘소 부리는 말’이 의미를 과잉으로 확장해서 사용하는 특징을 가지고 있음을확인하였다. 5. ‘소 부리는 말’에서 ‘왼쪽’과 ‘오른쪽’를 구분하는 의미 체계가다양함을 확인하였다. 6. ‘소 부리는 말’에서 위험을 경고하는 명사를 확인하였다. 7. ‘소 부리는 말’에서 소를 ‘꾸짖는 말’이 다양함을 확인하였다. 8. 기타 특이한 방언형을 발굴하였다.
This paper newly discovers 『Chousenniokeruchikuushishiekiyougo』 a 1920’s dialect source book in terms for cattle and labor, introduces the contents of 『Chousenniokeruchikuushishiekiyougo』, and examines linguistic characters of terms for cattle and labor. Regarding notable characters of 『Chousenniokeruchikuushishiekiyougo』’s contents, this paper deals with the following six: 1. the goal of compilation was to sort terms for cattle and labor throughout 13 provinces of Korean peninsular; 2. a Japanese, Yoshida Yushiro, was presumed to have been the author; 3. while data were collected by city·county base, the data were provided provincially; 4. terms for cattle and labor were investigated in 78 categories, and total of 801 word forms were recorded; 5. terms for cattle can be divided into directives and titles, and terms for labor can be sorted into directives, cautions, titles, scolding words, petting words, and so on; 6. compared to the terms for cattle and labor in 『Pyojungugeodaesajeon』, those recorded in 『Chousenniokeruchikuushishiekiyougo』 were abundant. This paper apprehends that the terms for cattle and labor recorded in 『 Chousenniokeruchikuushishiekiyougo』 had linguistic characters like the followings: 1. For terms for cattle and labor, imitative words and general words were used; 2. terms for cattle and labor had directivity toward 1 word; 3. terms for cattle and labor had the character of repetition; 4. terms for cattle and labor exaggerated and expanded their meanings; 5. terms for cattle and labor had various systems of meaning for ‘left-hand side’ and ‘right-hand side’; 6. among terms for cattle and labor were some nouns indicating danger; 7. among terms for cattle and labor were various scolding words; and 8. some odd dialect forms were discovered.
