The present study is designed to empirically test how job-expertise is associated with evaluation. Analyzing the data collected from the sample of 170 homecare-workers in Daegu, Korea and 230 homecare workers in Osaka, Japan, we comparatively analyzed the relationship between homecare-workers' expertise (accounted for by knowledge, skills, and information about clients) and evaluations (accounted for by homecare-workers' self-evaluations) of services provided to clients. Major findings of the present study are as follows: 1. The level of Japanese homecare-workers' expertise is much higher than Korean counterparts. 2. Homecare-workers' expertise is positively related with their evaluations of service provided to clients in Korea and Japan. After maintaining that the hypothesis is empirically confirmed, the author discussed the implications of empirical findings. KeyWords:homcare-worker, home-helper, homecare-worker's expertise, assessment or evaluation of service, comparative studies between Korea and Japan
