이 연구는 텔레비전 인포테인먼트 프로그램이 지닌 특성을 장르의 개념을 통해 살펴보는 데 그 목적이 있다. 여기에서 장르의 개념을 통해 프로그램을 살펴본다는 것은, 특정한 프로그램 집합이 지닌 장르 관습을 밝혀 그것이 다른 프로그램들과 맺 고 있는 관계의 구조를 드러내는 일이다. 본 논문은 장르의 개념을 구성체라는 관점 에서 이론적으로 살펴보고, 이러한 이론적 논의에 바탕하여 대표적인 인포테인먼트 프로그램의 중요한 특징들을 살펴봄으로써 인포테인먼트 프로그램의 장르 관습을 이끌어내고 있다. 인포테인먼트 프로그램은 교양적 메시지를 오락적 방법을 통해 전달한다는 특징을 갖는다. 이러한 메시지와 그것의 표현형식 사이에서 놓여 있는 간극은 한편으로 이 프로그램 장르를 혼성적인 것으로 만든다. 이러한 인포테인먼 트 프로그램의 혼성성은 단지 프로그램 구조의 복합성이나 이질적 요소들의 단순 접합에 기인하는 것이 아니라, 그 자체로 하나의 정체성을 구축한다.

In its forms, contents, casts, and methods, it has a double construction, which articulates two different television types: entertainment and information, to make cheerful information. Television information is a genre formation made from various factors of other program genres. In this complex, it refines a very coherent system which arranges these factors syntagmatically, so that, it becomes an individual entity in spite of its hybridity. From this hybridity, it is empowered to deconstruct the past concept of television program type. It makes us to understand that a certain television program genre is evolving with other program genres and their articulation and combination makes novel ones.
