본 연구는 구매자와 판매자가 기재한 인터넷 경매의 체험수기에 대해 양적 내용분석을 실시하여 인터넷 경매의 문제점을 밝힘으로써 인터넷 경매의 활성화 방안을 제시하는 것이 목적이다. 분석 자료는 2005년 1월 1일부터 6월 30일까지 (주)옥션 커뮤니티 내 “정보나누기” 코너에 게재된 구매수기 1,422건과 댓글 1,667건, 판매수기 398건과 댓글 569건이다. 이용자의 수기를 바탕으로 인터넷 경매의 주체별 태도와 행동, 인터넷 경매 과정별 문제점, 인터넷 경매 종료 후 행동 유형을 분석하여, 입법적, 산업적, 소비자 교육적 측면에서 인터넷 경매의 활성화 전략을 제시하였다.


The purpose of this study is to show how to revitalize internet auction process through analyzing the issues and problems of on-line auction users by using ‘Content Analysis’ methodology. We used 4,056 messages and comments in total as final analytical data consisted of 3,089 purchasing afternotes and 967 selling notes followed replied messages, which were posted from January 1st to June 6th, 2005 at the on-site room of “Sharing Information” inside of the web site of Auction community. Based on the results from this study, we can finally present a few plans to activate Internet auctions. First, under the terms of legislation, we have no doubt on the needs for a strict regulation over the clause “exemption”, specified in the stipulation of Internet auction companies. However, ahead of all these we need to discuss the issues - the limits in responsibility of Internet auction companies. Second, under the industrial aspect, it is needed to set up proper web sites considering the advantages of both sellers and buyers. Third, for the consumer education, consumers also should keep in mind to use the message board in a decent manner for the proper Internet etiquette, then it can contribute to enhance the value of Internet bulletin board. Above all things, buyers ought be encouraged to participate more actively in resolving all kinds of consumer problems. Finally, consumers also should recognize that it is not only the legitimate right of consumers to claim for compensation or damage relief, but also to realize consumers’ rights in the other consumer’s standpoint.
