화상네트워크는 초국가 민족 경제네트워크로 기존의 폐쇄적이고 편협한 네트워크에서 오늘날 글로벌 네트워크로 확장되어 왔다. 화상네트워크가 글로벌 네트워크로 발전하기까지 근본적으로 전통 문화의 힘이 컸다. 유교적 문화요인들은 네트워크 내 각 주체들의 교류확대, 거래비용의 절감, 시장의 개척, 그리고 경제효과의 극대화 등 경제적 활동에 영향을 미치고 있다. 화상네트워크의 글로벌 수준을 대표하는 가장 대표적인 사례가 바로 세계화상대회이다. 세계화상대회는 기본적으로 ‘화인경제 올림픽’이라는 취지로 탈정치화를 지향하고 있지만, 경우에 따라 국제정치적 성격도 갖는다. 요컨대 화상네트워크는 지역경제협력에서 중요한 역할을 수행해 왔으며, 앞으로 그 역할이 더욱 커질 것으로 전망된다. 동북아 경제협력체제 구축을 위해서는 화상네트워크와의 협력이 필요하며, 초국가적 민족네트워크간 협력 추진을 위한 대안 제시도 절실한 상황이다.

As a transnational ethnic economic network, Chinese Entrepreneurs Network, which has been conceived to be both narrow and conservative, has developed into a world-wide ethnic network. To a large degree, this lies in the traditional, in particular, Confucian cultural background, which tends to reduce the trading cost, expand the market, increase opportunities as well as make the economy get twice the result with half the effort while the networking individuals communicate on the basis of Chinese traditional cultural values. The World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention(WCEC) is the typical case which can represent the world level of Chinese entrepreneurs networks. WCEC called “Economy Olympic” objectively shows the political & economic quality which can strengthen the ties among Chinese Entrepreneurs and maximize the economic effect, although it attaches importance to financial benefits with non-political advocacy. Chinese entrepreneurs network plays a crucial role in the regional economic cooperation and its significance will be further enhanced, which is necessary to establish the regional economic cooperative system in Northeast Asia area. Therefore, this paper proposes that the study on the cooperative scheme among transnational ethnic networking in regional economic cooperations should be put on the agenda.
