주요 글로벌기업들은 러시아에서 발생하는 사업기회와 기초과학기술을 활용하기 위하여 현지에 적극 진출하고 있다. 최근 우리나라 기업들도 현지에서 생산뿐만 아니라 연구개발과 마케팅을 수행하는 자회사를 설립하고 있고 직간접으로 연계된 사업을 동시에 수행하는 복합단지를 개발하여 진출하고 있다. 특히 우리나라 기업들은 러시아에서 보유한 기초과학기술을 확보하기 위한 투자를 확대하고 있는데, 이를 위한 지역으로 관련 산업이 집적되어 있는 산업집적지를 연구할 필요가 제기되고 있다. 따라서 본고에서는 이러한 시대적 배경을 바탕으로 서북 러시아의 산업집적지를 연구하였다.
The purpose of this paper is to study the cluster of North-West Russia to acquire the advanced scientific technique. The cluster of Russia have a few traits as follows: development of the cluster utilizing natural resource, St. Petersburg is as a central place of industry and arts, liaison between basic and applied science, connected with peripheral countries etc. The structure of Russia’s industry is very confusing to foreigner and even to many observers within the country itself. Russia’s industry differs fundamentally from any western models because of old Communist heritage. But the clusters give any chances to any countries and companies for capturing opportunities of businesses and learning.
