본 연구는 게임기반학습에서 학습자의 특성 중의 하나인 게임능력과 학습능력이 논리적사고력에 미치는 효과를 밝히려 하였다. 경기도에 소재한 초등학교 5, 6학년 학생 281명을 대상으로 ‘줌비니의 수학 논리 여행’ 게임을 이용하였으며 게임 활동 이후에 논리적 사고력을 측정하였다. 연구 결과는 게임기반학습에서 게임능력이 높은 집단과 학습능력이 높은 집단이 게임능력이 낮은 집단과 학습능력이 낮은 집단보다 더 높은 논리적사고력을 보여 주었다. 또한 게임능력과 학습능력의 상호작용 효과도 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는 게임기반학습을 진행하고자 할 때는 학생들의 학습능력을 고려하고 학생들의 게임에 대한 능력정도를 파악 한 후 학습이 이루어져야 좋은 결과를 얻을 수 있다는 것을 시사하고 있다. 또한 상호작용 효과에 의해 게임능력이 높은 학습자는 학습능력이 높은 집단뿐만 아니라 학습능력이 낮은 집단에서도 논리적사고력이 상승되었다 이는 게임능력이 높은 학습자는 학습능력에 상관없이 논리적 사고력의 향상을 기대할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 학습능력이 낮은 학습자일지라도 게임능력이 우수한 학습자는 게임을 통한 학습을 유도하는 것이 의미가 있음을 시사한다.


The purpose of this study is to find the effects of the game ability and the learning ability on the logical thinking in the game based learning. In order to achieve this purpose, three hundred sixty eight students of the fifth and sixth grade in C, K, S, D, elementary schools were selected. They never had played the "Zoombini's mathematic logical travel" game before. And the modified GALT papers to measure the logical thinking ability of elementary students was administered. Fourteen weeks were spent for the game play. The results were as following: First, in the game based learning, the learners of higher game ability show the higher logical thinking than the learners of lower game ability. Second, in the game based learning, the learners of higher learning ability show the higher logical thinking than the learners of lower learning ability. Third, in the game based learning, there was an interactive effect between learning ability and game ability of learners on the logical thinking. This result implies that games should be selected in consideration of the students' ability and the game ability in the game based learning.
