The purpose of this study is to analyze upper elementary school students’ fear of child sexual violence, preventionbehavior, and experiences of child sexual violence. Data were collected from surveys among 611 upper elementaryschool students in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do Province. The data were analyzed using the SPSS 19.0 Program verifiedby t, and one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation and logistic regression analysis. The results are as follows. First,there were differences in fear of child sexual violence, prevention behavior, and victims’ experiences depending onchildren’s characteristics. Second, children who had more fear of sexual violence tended to have more preventionbehavior. Besides, children who had more prevention behavior were less likely to be sexually victimized. Lastly, boyswere more likely to be sexually abused when they had more prevention behavior. For girls, they experienced moresexual abuse when they were older and had more fear of sexual violence. To plan and carry out effective sexualviolence prevention education for children, children's characteristics should be considered. Besides, the educationprograms should consist of methods that help children to recognize sexual violence and have prevention behavior.
