본 논문은 지역 방송국이 자체 제작한 역사 다큐멘터리의 영상 포맷과 서사 구조를 분석 대상으로 한다. 특히 지역성(locality)과 지역의 국제화(global locality)라고 하는 상반된 가치 사이에서 지역 방송국이 생 산하는 방송 다큐멘터리의 정체성에 관해 문제를 제기하고자 한다. 주요 연구방법은 프로그램에 제시된 사건과 현상을 중심으로 기억의 문화화 (culturalization of memory)를 통해 구성된 역사성의 주요 재현 부분을 영상 포맷과 서사 구조로 분류한 후, 각각의 분석 항목에 대한 해석적 접근을 시도했다. 이 과정에서 영상 포맷은 영상 이미지로 보여주는 시각화와 시각 체제, 시각적 재현의 구조를 통해서, 이야기 내용과 이야기하기 방식은 사건 과 현상을 일정하게 연결하는 서사 구조를 통해 각각 분석했다. 본 논문의 연구 결과, 지역 방송국이 갖고 있는 지역적 경계에 대한 고민과 역사성의 지역적 또는 탈지역적 재현을 위한 시도 사이에 일종의 관습화된 영상 포맷과 서사 구조가 존재하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 즉 역사 다큐멘터리 를 기술하는 두 가지 방식이 지역성과 탈지역성의 경계에서 스스로의 정체성 을 일정 부분 포기하고 있다는 것이다. 그 결과 이른바 대화적 생산력 (dialogic productivity)을 상실한 채 생산과 소비를 담당하는 두 주체 모두 의 동의와 공유의 과정을 거치지 않고 있다는 점을 알 수 있었다. 이런 연구 결과는 향후 지역 방송 프로그램 생산 시스템의 변화를 위한 과제를 제시하 고 있다고 할 수 있다.

This thesis is for the historical documentary’s visual image format and narrative structure which was self-produced by local broadcasting company. Especially between the contrary characters locality and global locality, I would like to present the identity of documentary produced by local company. The studying method is, mainly for the issues and phenomenon suggested by the program, classify the historical representation by the culturalization of the memory into visual image format and narrative structure. Then I tried to interpret for each analysis item. During this process, visual image format is analyzed through issues and the theme defined the phenomenon (through the visibility, scopic regime, visual representational structure shown as a image) and the narrative structure that connect the event and phenomenon. Between the dilemma of local broadcasting’s regional boundary and the approach of history’s regional (or out of regional) representation, this study conclude that a kind of conventional visual image format and narrative structure is exist may present the subject that the production system of local broadcasting company must be changed.
