이 연구의 목적은 UCC에 대한 인식과 이용경험, 그리고 영상문화와의 관계를 바탕으로 UCC 영상문화의 함의 및 문제점을 진단하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 이론적 전제로서 영상문화에 대한 긍정적 입장과 부정적 입장에 대해 논의하고자 한다. 전자의 경우 정보양식론을 주창한 마크 포스 터(M. Poster)와 뉴미디어 철학을 제시한 빌렘 플루서(V. Flusser)의 영상 문화에 대한 긍정적 입장에 초점을 맞추고, 후자의 경우 정보기술과 영상문 화의 발전에 대한 폴 비릴리오(V. Virilio)의 부정적 입장을 개진하고자 한 다. 이론적 논의를 기반으로 대학생들의 UCC 영상문화에 대한 인식 사례를 조사 연구하고, 연구방법으로써 심층 인터뷰를 이용한 질적 연구방법을 이용 하고자 한다. 이 연구의 의의는 UCC와 영상문화의 함의 및 문제점에 대해 이론적 접근에 제한하지 않고, 청년층의 UCC 핵심 이용자의 의견을 수집, 분석함으로써 생생한 현안들을 종합적으로 다루었다는 점에 있다.

The purpose of this study is to identify implications of UCC visual culture and to diagnose issues under the relationship with cognition, user experience, and visual culture. As a theoretical background, positive and negative views to the video culture will be discussed. Representing positive view, the mode of information by M. Poster and New media philosophy by V. Flusser will be focused. Negative view will appoint the view of V. Virilio with the development of visual culture. With the theoretical background, case study with college students’ recognition to the UCC visual culture will be researched with the quantative depth interview. Implications of this study are not limited to the theoretical analysis but to extend to collecting and analyzing the young focal groups’ opinion, and thoroughly studied vivid discussion points.
