고려가요 전반에 대한 연구는 학계에서 어느 정도 합의에 도달한 것으로 보인다. 이에 앞으로 고려가요에 대한 연구는 세밀한 개별 작품의 분석 작업과 그를 바탕으로 하여 작품 속에 숨겨진 의미를 찾아내는 방향으로 진행될 것으로 생각된다. 본 논문은 <만전춘별사>의 세밀한 작품 분석을 통해서 작품의 시적 문맥의 통일을 시도하였다. 그리고 이를 바탕으로 <만전춘별사>의 시적 화자의 정서가 어떠한 양상으로 드러나는지 밝히고자 하였다.

A Reflective Investigation on the Attitude Laying Special Emphasis on the First Literary Works in the History of Korean Old Novel So, In-ho Most of our history of literature are inclined to be written depending too much on the first literary works. It is the same in the history of korean novel. Geum-o-sin-wha, <Seol-gong-chan-jeon>, and <Hong- gil-dong-jeon> have been recognized as the first novel , and as the first one created or written in korean letters. However, there are no definite evidence to conclude that these are the first ones in the history of korean novel. On the contrary, the attitude laying special emphasis on the first works can be an obstruction to understand the whole procession of old novels. The first shape of a certain genre can not appear in a day, and there are many veriables to decide it as the first one. Although those novel works are not the first ones, they have very significant meaning in the history of korean novel. Geum-o-sin-wha, as a typical case of 'jeon-gi soseol(傳奇小說)', had much effect on the works in later ages. <Seol-gong-chan-jeon>, being circulated by many people in 16th century, contributed to making a firm ground in the developement of korean old novel. <Hong-gil-dong-jeon> had been read by the people of lower social stratum, and received as a text of peasant movement against the corrupted feudal government. It is not necessary for us to be bound by the fact whether the works are the first ones in the literary history or not.
