본 연구는 시도교육청에서 매년 운영 실시하는 수업 연구 발표 대회를 둘러싼 교사들의 참가 전략과 평가의 실제를 통해 대회가 갖는 문제점을 찾고 이를 토대로 대회의 개선 방안과 초등 사회과 교사의 수업 전문성 신장을 위한 대안을 탐색하고자 노력했다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 초등학교 세 교사를 대상으로 한 질적 사례 연구를 수행하였다. 수업 연구 발표 대회는 각 교과 영역별로 수업 우수 교사의 수업 기술과 전략을 발굴하여 이를 일반화함으로써 수업을 개선하는 목적으로 한다. 이를 구현하기 위해 이 대회는 이론적 수업 지식의 적용, 교사의 수업 기술과 전략의 발굴, 이에 대한 전달과 확산 과정을 거친다. 그러나 현장에서는 그렇게 발굴된 수업 기술과 전략이 교사들의 수업 문제 해결에 큰 도움을 주지 못했다는 부정적 인식이 존재한다. 본 연구는 이 대회의 핵심 논리와 실제에 대한 이해를 통해 대회의 개선 방향과 초등 교사의 수업 문제 해결을 위해 어떤 노력이 필요한지 논의하였다.

Specifically, the contest is composed of three steps such as the adaption of theorized teaching knowledge, the search of technical skills adapting that knowledge and the proliferation of the skills into teachers. But some teachers criticize the contest for not developing teaching professions in them. The study suggests what we consider to develop teaching profession in elementary teachers and improve teaching in elementary school.
