본 연구에서는 최근의 인구의 고령화 및 중장년층 인터넷 이용자수의 증대 추세에 따라 조만간 예비노인이나 노인을 주요 대상고객으로 하는 실버포탈이 다수 등장할 것으로 예상하고 있다. 이러한 전망에 기초하여, 본 연구에서는 향후 다양한 형태의 실버포탈이 제공할 수 있는 콘텐츠 유형에 대한 선호도를 탐색적 관점에서 파악함으로써, 향후 관련 실증연구들에서 적용하여 사용할 수 있는 연구명제를 제시하고자 하였다. 또한 실버포탈에서 제공되는 정보서비스를 통해 노인복지를 향상시킬 수 있는 방향성을 모색하는 데에 초점을 두고 있다. 연구목적을 달성하기 위해서, 관련 문헌들에 대한 검토를 통해 응답자의 특성을 성, 연령, 직업, 학력, 소득수준으로 구분하였으며, 향후 실버포탈이 제공할 수 있는 다양한 콘텐츠 유형을 새롭게 분류하여 정의하였다. 이러한 연구변수의 정의를 토대로, 본 연구에서는 국내의 수도권 지역에 거주하는 40세 이상의 잠재적 실버포탈 이용자들을 대상으로 설문지를 의뢰하여 통계분석을 수행하였다. 연구 결과, 응답자의 성, 연령 등에 따라 실버포탈 콘텐츠 유형에 대한 선호도가 어떻게 달라지는가를 파악할 수 있었으며, 이러한 통계분석 결과를 토대로 향후 관련 연구들에서 적용할 수 있는 연구명제들을 제시하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 고령화 사회에서의 노인복지를 실천하고 정책을 입안하는 과정에 일련의 함의를 제공할 수 있으며, 특히 실버포탈의 컨텐츠를 노인 계층의 실질적인 복지 향상에 적합하게 구성하는 데 방향성을 제시할 수 있을 것으로 평가된다.

This study defines the silver portal as a specialized internet portal that will be probably popular with the pre-senior/senior internet users who are over 40, sooner or later. The purpose of the study is to analyze what types of online contents on the silver portal are mostly preferred by the pre-senior/senior, and does the preference of those content types vary according to the demographic and the internet usage characteristics of the pre-senior/senior. The study also focuses on finding some clues to improve old people's welfare through various information contents from the silver portal. To accomplish these research purposes, the study performed a survey for the prospective silver portal users who are living in metropolitan areas, and did various statistical analyses. This study found that the preference of content types of the silver portal vary according to some personal characteristics of the prospective silver portal users, and moreover proposed a few of research propositions on the relationships between personal characteristics and preferred content types. The results could be applied to empirical studies in the future which deal with various research questions on the silver portal, and could suggest some implications to improve old people's welfare.
