우리나라는 1990년대 후반 대형할인점이 급성장하면서 바잉 파워(buying power)가 제조업체 중심에서 유통업체 주도로 전환되었다. 이와 같은 급격한 환경변화 하에서 동업태 및 이업태간의 경쟁이 심화되자 대형할인점들은 경쟁에서 살아남고 성장을 추구하기 위해 글로벌 소싱을 더욱 확대하고 있다.21세기에도 글로벌화는 지속될 것이고, 대형할인점간의 글로벌 경쟁도 심화될 것이기 때문에 본 연구를 통해 대형할인점들이 지속적인 경쟁력을 강화하기 위한 방안을 제시하고자 한다. 첫째, 점포 차별화의 수단으로 제조업자 상표와 품질은 동등하면서 가격이 20~40% 저렴한 글로벌 소싱상품을 개발하여 경쟁력을 확보해야 한다. 둘째, 정보비용, 협상비용, 시장거래비용 등의 비용을 최소화하고, 고품질을 유지하면서 제조원가를 절감하는 글로벌 소싱상품을 매입해야 한다. 셋째, 철저한 현지조사를 실시하여 우수한 글로벌 공급업체를 개발하고 전략적 제휴를 구축해야 한다. 넷째, 글로벌 마인드와 풍부한 상품지식을 겸비한 글로벌 소싱의 전문가를 적극적으로 육성해야 한다.


As discount store have fast-grown in late 1990’s, buying power was switchover manufacturer to distributor. When competition is keen between same business status and different business status, global sourcing is expanded to survive and seek growth. In this study, we present some global sourcing strategies because globalization is ongoing and global competition among discount stores is fierce. First, global sourcing products(quality is excellent) which are more cheap(20~40% low) than manufacture’s products are developed. Second, information cost, negotiation cost and market transaction cost must be minimized. And also global sourcing products were purchased to maintain high quality and reduce production cost. Third, excellent global suppliers were picked out and strategic alliance are concluded through rigorous market research. Finally, global experts who have global mind and abundant product knowledge are actively fostered.
