본 연구는 여성시인인 모윤숙의 시에서 전쟁을 소재로 한 시를 중심으로 식민지시대와 가부장제도하에서 여성의 정체성을 살펴보기 위하여 시도되었다. 이를 살펴보기 위하여 모윤숙의 여성의식이 식민지 시대에 어떻게 성립되었는지 그 배경을 알아보고, 시적 화자의 담론에서 남성화자를통한 여성적 언어의 주체성을 고찰하고 전쟁을 소재로 한 시에서 모성의 이중성을 살펴 보았다. 모윤숙의 여성의식은 식민지와 가부장제도에 저항하는 여성해방의식에서 출발한다. 신여성이었던 그는 조국의 현실을 인식하고 일찍이 사회일선에 참여하는 여성시인으로서의 정체성을 확립한다. 그는 여성적 글쓰기로 남성화자를 선택하여 기존의 언어체계에서 여성적 글쓰기의 주체성을 시도하였고, 전쟁을 소재로 한 시에서 어머니의 이중적 이미지를 드러내었다. 그의 모성성은 식민지 시대에는 조국의 독립을 염원하는 아내의 이미지에서 태평양전쟁과 한국전쟁 때에는참전을 독려하는 어머니로 이중적 이미지를 드러내었다. 이와 같이 모윤숙은 시적화자의 담론 구조를 통해 여성적 언어의 주체성을 나타냈다면 전쟁시에서는 역사적 변천과 함께 흔돈된 여성의식의 여정을 드러내었다. 결국 모윤숙의 여성의식에서한국적인 민족주의와 페미니즘이 결합된 불완전한 여성의식의 주체성을 확인할 수 있었다.
This study aims at investigating the women's identity during the Japanese imperialist period as well as under the feudalistic social system by collecting the thematic role "war" in the female poet M's world. In order to review M's feminism, we have observed her background of feministic approaches to the Japanese imperialistic period, her feministic identity through the poetic narrator's discourse via male narrator's viewpoint and her dual "motherhood" the poems which concerns the Wars. M's feminism starts with the emancipation of women conflicting with the colonial situations and the feudalistic social system at that time. As a modern woman herself, M has established her identity engaged in the social issues after realizing Korea, the fatherland. She has tried to acquire the feministic identity by means of choosing a male narrator with a feministic literary style. And M has demonstrated the dual image of "mother" in her poems which concerns the Pacific War. Her "motherhood" represents a wife's image which wishes the independence of the fatherland during the imperialistic period. From then, M's "motherhood" changes her face as encouraging the participation in the battles during the Pacific War time and the Korean Civil War. Along these lines, while M has shown the feministic identity through the structure of the poetic narrator's discourse she has also shown the passage of the confused feminism in the middle of historic vicissitude in her poems on Wars. In conclusion, we could find it incomplete the represented feministic identity in M's poems which is combined with Korean nationalism and feminism together.
