The Entertainment quarters and the literature of deviation in late of Choson Dynasty

조선후기에는 여가를 소비하기 위한 다양한 유흥공간이 발달하였다. 조선후기의 유흥공간으로는 풍류방(風流房)과 기방(妓房), 색주가(色酒家)를 들 수 있다. 이중 풍류방은 전대 사대부 문화의 전통을 시정문화에 걸맞게 계승한 것이라면, 기방과 색주가는 상업적 수요에 맞춰 새롭게 등장한 유흥공간이라 할 수 있다. 새로운 유흥공간의 등장 원인으로는 상업과 교역의 발달에 따른 도시의 번성, 여악 폐지 이후 관의 구속에서 벗어난 기녀와 전문 예능인의 증가를 들 수 있다. 풍류방은 기녀와 전문 음악인을 매개로 하여 시와 음악이 결합된 시가의 전문화를 주도하였고, 기방에서는 가무의 소비와 함께 향락적인 성애의 담론을 양산하였다. 조선 후기 유흥공간은 이처럼 여가를 심미적으로 소비하려는 욕구와 향락에 대한 추구가 교차한 지점에 위치하고 있다. 사대부의 풍류의 전통을 잇는 풍류방 문화는 여항인의 적극적 개입과 기녀와 악공 등 전문 예인의 활동 영역 구축이라는 의의를 지니고 있음에도 불구하고, 결과적으로 사대부 문화의 주변성을 벗어나지 못했다고 할 수 있다. 그에 비해 새로 등장한 상업적 유흥공간이나 그 연장선상에 놓일 수 있는 다양한 형태의 도시유흥은 사대부 기반의 담론으로부터 비로소 벗어난 일탈의 장이라 할 수 있다. 이로써 문학예술은 사대부가 주도했던 주류적 담론으로부터 벗어나 시정의 욕망과 세태를 담아낼 수 있었다. 그러나 이러한 성과가 유흥문화의 주체이자 쾌락의 대상인 기녀의 재능과 성적 매력을 향락을 위한 대상으로 소모한 가운데 획득하였다는 점 또한 유념할 필요가 있다.

Late of Chosun dynasty saw development of various entertainment quarters to consume leisure time. pungryubang(風流房) and Kibang(妓房) are those among representative entertainment quarters of end of Chosun dynasty. While pungryubang inherited traditions of aristocratic culture of previous period corresponding to urban atmosphere, Kibang would be newly introduced entertainment quarter meeting new commercial needs. Reasons pertaining to introduction of new entertainment quarters were prosperity of cities due to growth of commerces and trades and increase of Kinyo and professional entertainers whose private activities were guaranteed since abolition of Yeoak(女樂). pungryubang led specialization of Siga which combines poem and music and Kibang produced literature of hedonic sexual love for Kinyo while consuming songs and dances. The entertainment quarters of Chosun dynasty located at where needs to consume leisure time aesthetically and pursuing pleasures came across. pungryubang culture that succeed aristocratic refinements, despite of its significance of aggressive involvement by Yeohangin and constructing professinal entertainers' activity domain, remained at the border. On the contrary, newly introduced commercial entertainment quarters and urban entertainments of various forms could be said as scene of deviation away from cultures led by the aristocratic. Therefore, literatures and arts finally could incorporate urban desires and lineaments of the time free from aristocratic moral culture.
