이 논문은 여성시에 나타난 ‘섹슈얼리티와 전복의 전략’을 신현림․김선우의 텍스트를 중심으로 살폈다. 여성시에서 섹슈얼리티는 어떤 방식으로 재현되는지, 그것이 궁극적으로 무엇을 의미하는지를 탐색하기 위하여 여성의 몸으로 성차와 체현을 강조하는 프랑스페미니스트 이리가레이의 논의를 참조하여 두 시인의 시를 읽었다. 이리가레이에 따르면 남성중심적 사회에서 여성의 섹슈얼리티는 남성의 성적 쾌락의 대상이거나 생산을 위한 도구로 인식되어 왔다. 그러나 여성은 남성의 대상이나 소유물이 아니다. 그러므로 여성이 자신의 지위를 확보하기 위해서는 성적 존재로서 주체성을 확보해야 하며, 이를 위해서는 두 가지 전략을 사용해야 한다. 하나는 가부장적 질서 내에 각인되어 있는 남성 이데올로기를 드러내는 것이고, 다른 하나는 여성에게 긍정적인 성 정체성을 제공할 수 있는 여성적 의미질서를 구성하는 것이다. 신현림․김선우는 타자의 자유와 주체성을 강조했던 90년대 시인들로, 이리가레이와 유사한 전략으로 타자의 목소리를 높였다. 이들의 시는 가부장적 질서가 배제하고 소외시킨 (여)성의 진실을 보여주면서, 성적주체로서의 여성이라는 새로운 이미지를 제시한다. 신현림의 시에서 여성은 주로 남성의 성적 쾌락과 생산을 위한 도구로 재현된다. 따라서 여성의 섹슈얼리티는 부정적인 방식으로 나타난다. 이는 가부장적 질서를 수용하는듯하지만 궁극적으로는 여성 육체에 대한 남성의 시선과 환상을 위반하기 위한 전략이다. 김선우의 시에서 여성은 더 이상 남성의 욕망의 대상으로만 존재하는 허구적 (여)성으로 나타나지 않는다. 그의 시에는 모든 만물이 서로 교류하고 사랑을 나눈다. 이는 부정적인 현실에 대한 대안으로서 유토피아를 보여준다고 할 수 있다. 이들의 시는 억압과 피억압이라는 불평등한 관계를 넘어 모두가 조화로운 새로운 세계를 모색하고 있다는 점에서 의미 있다.
This abstract is about the strategy of sexuality and subversion mainly written from the texts of Shin Hyeonlim and Kim Seonwoo. In order to research how the sexuality in women's poems in 1990s is reenacted and what it means, ultimately I read the two poets' poems on the basis of French feminist Luce Irigaray's argument, which emphasizes the gender gap and the embodiment of a woman's body. According to him, the role of a woman's body in androcentric society is perceived as men's sexual object or a tool for giving birth. However, woman is not an object or a possession of a man. To make good her position, she secures woman's sexual identity by using two strategies. One is to show the man's ideology engraved in the patriarchy and the other is to compose the feminine order which provides women their positive gender identity. Shin Hyeonlim and Kim Seonwoo are the poets of the 1990s who emphasized the liberty and the individuality of others and raised their voices using a similar strategy to Luce Irigaray's. By showing the truth of woman which the patriarchy system eliminates and neglects, their poems present new image of sexually independent woman. In Shin Hyeonlim's poems, woman is reenacted as man's sexual toy and a tool for giving birth. As a result, woman's sexuality appears in a negative way. It seems to accept the order of a patriarchy, but its ultimate goal is to betray the man's fantasy for woman's body. In Kim Seonwoo's poems woman no longer exists as a fictional one for man's lust. In her poems, all the things interact and love one another It seems to show a utopia as a substitute for the negative reality of life. Their poems are very meaningful in seeking a new world where everybody lives harmoniously, transferring away from the unequal relationship of oppressing and being oppressed.
