Foreign firms are faced with the barriers in doing business in the Northeast Asian nations. The nexus exists between the business sector and the government to systematically exclude foreign companies from entering the Asian Nations' market. The structural and social barriers inhibit the ability of foreign firms to effectively compete with local firms.This study deals with the frequency of anticompetitive practices in Northeast Asia and the anticompetitive practices' impact on the performance of foreign firms in Northeast Asia. Empirical study answers to the two points based on the a survey of foreign manufacturers in Northeast Asia.This study finds that anticompetitive behaviors occur more frequently in China than any other nations in Northeast Asia and the anticompetitive practices have a negative impact on the performance of foreign firms in Northeast Asia.
