The purposes of this study were to examine the teachers' perception of online English learning, so-called Cyber Home Work, and based on the findings, to suggest some solutions and strategies for implementing it efficiently and effectively in primary and secondary English education. In order to pursue the purposes and obtain all the pertinent data, a case study was used. The subjects consisted of eighteen teachers who participated in the pilot Cyber Home Work Program from September to December in 2004. The results of the study showed that the teachers had positive views on the potential and value of Cyber Home Work such as interactivity (teacher-learners, inter-learners, and inter-teachers), individualization, quantity and quality of the content, and immediate feedback. However, the following factors, such as students’ and their parents’ lack of knowledge and understanding of Cyber Home Work, lack of hardware and level-specific contents, fall off in attendance, and excessive phone calls appear to inhibit the successful implementation of Cyber Home Work. Finally, some suggestions were made for directions for the effective implementation of Cyber Home Work.
